Using Less to Save More With 5 Coincident Peak
If your company can reduce demand during the (5) hours when PJM is using the most electricity of the year, you could save thousands of dollars in capacity charges the following year.
Qualifying customers are subject to capacitycharges based on their average contribution to the highest peak hour during the (5) highest peak days in the Summer (June – September) across the PJM Interconnection. These (5) coincident peak (5CP) periods dictate how much capacity the customer pays for over the next 12-month market year and are directly related to how much electricity the customer was using during the (5) peak hours of the summer (occurring on separate days between June 1st and September 30th).
Once you opt in, communications will be sent to you on the possibility of a coincident peak event.
