The Energy Needs of Data Centers Texas Conference convenes leaders from data center developers, government, utilities, technology providers, energy suppliers, investors, and innovators to examine the state’s evolving data center landscape and discuss strategies for a reliable, resilient, and market-driven path forward for Texas’ digital infrastructure.

Event Overview

Texas is experiencing one of the fastest expansions of data center development in the US.  With more than ten hyperscale campuses announced and dozens more in planning, ERCOT is reported to be currently evaluating over 200 GW of large-load interconnection requests, more than two-thirds originating from data centers, many at the GW scale. This represents one of the most significant concentrations of new power demand ever faced by an independent grid.

To address these issues, Global Transmission Report is organizing a one-day conference on Energy Needs of Data Centers Texas on April 9, 2026, at W Austin, Texas. Attendees will hear sessions on:

  • Powering Texas Data Centers Through 2030
  • Interconnection & Grid Readiness in Texas
  • Alternatives to Grid Power
  • Power-Ready Infrastructure & Faculty Design
  • Regulation, Policy & Utility Collaboration in Texas
  • What’s Next for Powering Digital Texas?
