Lower Usage and Earn Money With TXU Energy Reduction Rewards
When electricity demand is high, you can earn money by reducing your usage with Reduction Rewards. We’ll notify you when to reduce, and you participate when you can- it’s totally up to you. With no commitment, it’s the easiest way to earn.
How Does Reduction Rewards Work?
TXU Energy will call a Reduction Rewards event when demand on the grid is high and notify you when the event is scheduled. You can choose to opt in and reduce usage during the designated time.
Generally, there are 3–5 called events during the summer and winter seasons. Compensation for participation will be 50% of real-time settlement point price (RTSPP) in the applicable ERCOT load zone(s) multiplied by delivered kWh. Delivered kWh will be measured by comparing 15-minute interval usage during the Reduction Rewards event hours compared to a Middle 8-of-10 Like Days baseline (commonly leveraged in other demand response programs).
