Using Less to Save More With 4 Coincident Peak
Our 4 Coincident Peak (4CP) service gives you advance notice to reduce usage when demand peaks on the ERCOT system. All you need is an IDR meter, and you can save thousands of dollars in TDU charges.
ERCOT determines 4CP intervals based on the four highest 15-minute demand periods from June to September. Once you opt in, you’ll get an email the day before and day of a forecasted 4CP event. If you choose to curb your usage, you’ll save on future TDU charges, and those savings can add up. Historically since 2012, 95% of 4CP intervals have occurred Monday – Friday between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
4CP is a free service for our customers in Texas. You can join at any time and participate in any 4CP event when you want.

Getting started is free and easy. Once enrolled, an email will be sent to you on the possibility of a coincident peak event. Emails will include a weekly outlook of load conditions and potential peak days. You will be contacted again during the day that we forecast a coincident peak, with the estimated hours that the peak could occur.
